This comedy/crime/drama deserves your attention even though it’s a few years old. Director/writer Macon Blair’s dark comedy tells a story of a young woman (Melanie Lynskey) that teams up with her offensive neighbor (Elijah Wood) vigilante style to track down the hoodlums who ransacked her house. There are not too many movies out with this good of a story line that is not over-drawn and will having you chuckling more than you’d expect. It might start out slow but will lure you right in. The acting is wonderful with some violence/gore fitting in humorously, think Kick Ass.
The soundtrack is a plus and it’s only an hour and a half long and also stars Jane Levy (Don’t Speak). In a world of movie theater shut-down, Netflix comes through. 4 stars.
