Dark Waters which opens everywhere November 22 is a powerful film based on a true story of a 15 year battle staring Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Anne Hathaway about defense attorney Rob Bilott (Ruffalo) who laid his practice and family on the line to go after and uncover a hidden secret by the DuPont plant who is depositing toxic waste into local landfills that is sickening people and killing their animals. Director Todd Haynes has a heavy piece here that might earn the film an award in some form. Bilott teams with his partner in the firm, Tom Terp (Tim Robbins), to file a formal complaint with the organization to discover the truth. This tests his wife’s (Anne Hathaway) faith in him. This is a powerful film.

It’s not a fast paced film but it will grab your attention for two hours. ****
