The Power of Love (A poem for Kylie Williams) 08/24/2021

ONCE UPON A TIME

LONG AGO

SET INTO RHYME

OUT BY THE SHORE

I RISE AND SEE THE DOOR

LIKE VOICES IN THE WIND

I HEAR VOICES

I SEE FACES

I SEE PURPLE, YELLOW AND BLUE

YOU LOVE ME AND I LOVE YOU

I SEE GRANDMA AND GRANDPA TOO

I AM STANDING IN THE THRESHOLD

LOOKING THROUGH THE WINDOW WATCHING THE HAPPY FACES

THERE IS MOM, DAD, CHAD, KELSEY POOH AND KENDALL JACKSON CHARDONNAY

LITTLE BURGER BROTHER JAXSON

MY HEAD IS STARTING TO SPIN

AS PAST MEMORIES START TO KICK IN

THE FLOWERS IN THE VASE ARE WILTED ON ONE SIDE

THIS HOUSE WAS BORN TO GROW AND DIE

DROPPING ALL SENSE OF REASON

THIS IS TREASON

FOR SLEEP LONG AWAITED

BLESSED PEACE NOW HAS COME

LET FREE YOUR SILENT SONG

YOUR DREAM JUST BEGUN

GET THE FIRE AS THE FLAME IT BURNS

GET THE WIND AS IT SLOWLY TURNS

GET THE SKY

SEE GOD’S CREATIONS FLY BY

I HAVE THE POWER OF LOVE

IT FITS LIKE A WELL-TAILORED GLOVE

HEAVEN OPENED THE DOOR

YOU LEFT WAY TO SOON

SHAME, SHAME ON THE MOON

OH KYLIE, KYLIE

OH WYLIE KYLIE

WE NEED TO TALK

BRING THE BLACKBOARD

I GOT THE CHALK

SET FORTH AND HEAD NORTH

WITH GRANDMA, WITH GRANDPA

A WARM SUMMER BREEZE ON THE OCEAN SHORE

WHERE WORRIES WILL BE NO MORE

YOUR COURSE HEADS FOR A UNIVERSE SEASON

THE SUN, THE MOON, THE STARS, THE REASON

ANOTHER SHOUT

ANOTHER CRY

WE LOVE YOU

YOU KNOW WHY

SWEET MEMORIES CARRY ON

WE DREAM AS ONE

LOVE IS IN OUR HEARTS

LOVE AND WE SHALL NEVER FALL APART

KYLIE, I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS POEM

IT’S FROM UNCLE BOBBY

YOU KNOW ‘EM

WE LOVE YOU, SHERRY LOVES YOU

AND THAT’S THE POWER OF LOVE
